| ‘Brainy Bunch’ Billboards To Reach Over 100,000 People Daily | |
|
The Brain Injury Association of New Jersey
unveiled its new statewide
“Brainy Bunch” helmet safety billboards featuring Gov. James McGreevey. With
more than 100,000 people viewing the billboard each day for a three-month period
at six locations, the association is hopeful bicyclists will remember to always
wear helmets when riding. The billboard, which also includes the governor’s
wife, Dina Matos McGreevey, and children of all ages, was photographed at
Drumthwacket, the Governor’s Mansion, in Princeton, N.J. Brainy Bunch is the Brain Injury Association of New Jersey’s helmet safety awareness campaign. Through the distribution of English and Spanish-translated materials, an interactive website, a statewide speakers’ bureau and radio and television public service announcements, the Association, along with New Jersey’s educational and medical communities, has been raising the awareness among children and adults of the importance of wearing a helmet while bicycling -- and the devastating consequences of not doing so. To reinforce this important message, the billboard has been made into a poster, and, along with a packet of Brainy Bunch resources, will be distributed to middle schools, public libraries, police and fire departments, bicycle shops and pediatricians’ offices throughout New Jersey. The packet will contain articles for duplication and placement in the organizations’ internal and external newsletters and on their websites. |
